How to Know

The Lord has always promised that those who seek him with sincerity shall find him. The Apostle Paul wrote that without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. The prophet Moroni in the Book of Mormon gave a promise that has been received by millions: that whoever shall ask of God in the name of Christ, with a sincere heart and real intent, shall receive a witness of the truth.

That promise applies here also.

If you wish to know whether the Book of the Brother of Jared is true, whether Christopher Glenn Marriott is a prophet of God, and whether the Church of Jesus Christ of the Final Restoration is the work of the Lord in this last dispensation, we invite you to do the following:

Read. Read the founding account. Read the scripture. Read the revelations of the Doctrine and Covenants of the Final Restoration. Read the words of the witnesses. Read the answers to honest questions. Read with a willingness to be changed by what you find, not merely to confirm what you have already decided.

Pray. Ask God whether these things are true. Ask in the name of Christ. Ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in him. Ask not once but as many times as you must.

Wait. The Spirit speaks in the Lord's time, not in ours. Some receive an answer quickly. Others receive it over weeks or months of seeking. The slowness of the answer is not the absence of an answer. It is the patience of God working in you.

Act. When you have received your witness, act on it. Do not delay. The promise of God is to those who not only ask, but who are willing to do.

If You Are Already Convinced

If you have read these things and the Spirit has confirmed to you that they are true, the next step is to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of the Final Restoration. Baptism is by immersion, by one having authority, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Following baptism, hands are laid upon your head for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Because the church is young, we do not yet have congregations in every city. If you are within reach of Orange County, California, you may attend in person. If you are at a distance, we will arrange for a member with the proper authority to come to you, or for you to be put in contact with the closest gathering of saints.

Use the contact form linked below to reach us, or write directly. The Prophet himself reads correspondence sent in the early days of this work.

If You Are Still Investigating

You are welcome here. Take all the time you need.

This work was not given to you to be hurried. The decisions you make about it will affect your life and the lives of those you love. Read carefully. Pray honestly. Ask whatever questions you wish to ask. We will answer them.

If you have come to this site from a background in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we understand that this raises difficult questions for you. We do not ask you to accept anything quickly or under pressure. We ask only that you give the Final Restoration the same fair examination you would wish anyone to give the church of your upbringing.

If You Are Wounded

For those who have left another church and have been hurt by the leaving, or who have been hurt by the church before they left, we want to say this clearly:

You are not the problem. The institution that hurt you is the problem. The God you came to know in your years of faith did not authorize what was done to you in his name. We say this not to recruit you, but because it is true and you may not have heard anyone say it.

Whatever you decide about this church, the Lord knows you. He has always known you. He has not forgotten you. The work of the Final Restoration is in part to bind up wounds, but it is not in any part to require you to pretend they don't exist.

Come if you wish. Stay if you wish. Leave if you wish. The door is open either way, and the love of God is upon you either way.
