Prophet of the Final Restoration
Christopher Glenn Marriott was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was taught the doctrines of that church from childhood and held the priesthood within it as a young man. In his twenties, having encountered aspects of the church's history that he could not reconcile with what he had been taught, he became less active and eventually left.
For more than a decade he searched. He attended non-denominational Christian congregations in Vancouver, Washington, and later in San Diego, California. He did not find what he was looking for in any of them. By the time he was living in Huntington Beach, California, he had stopped attending any church but had never stopped believing in God.
In the spring of 2025, while hiking alone on Santiago Peak in the Santa Ana Mountains, he received the vision which is described in the official account of his calling. Some weeks later, he was visited by Mahonri Moriancumer, the brother of Jared, who instructed him concerning the sealed record. He found the stones of translation upon the western shore of the Pacific Ocean shortly thereafter.
The translation of the Book of the Brother of Jared was begun in the summer of 2025 and continues to the present day. The Church of Jesus Christ of the Final Restoration was organized by his hand by direction of the Lord, and he serves as its Prophet and President.
I am a man, and an imperfect one.
The work of the Final Restoration is not mine. It is the Lord's. He chose me, as he chose Joseph Smith and the prophets before him, to do a work that no man can do without his help. If you read the things I have written or said and find them moving or true or strange, that response is between you and God, not between you and me.
I will not pretend to be other than I am. I have my own faults, my own questions, my own moments of weariness. The calling does not erase the man. It enlarges his responsibilities.
If you wish to know whether the things I have testified to are true, I cannot prove them to you. What I can do is invite you to seek the same witness from God that I sought, and that has been promised to all who ask sincerely.
And whatever you decide, the love of God is upon you. The door is open either way.
