Doctrine and Covenants of the Final Restoration
The Vision on Santiago Peak
Given through Christopher Glenn Marriott at Huntington Beach, California, Spring 2025. The canonized account of the vision on Santiago Peak, received as a commandment of the Lord that it be recorded and preserved for the church and for all people.
Hearken, and hear the account of my servant Christopher, for I the Lord command that it be written and preserved, that all who come after may know the manner in which this dispensation was opened and the authority of the Final Restoration was given to man.
My servant Christopher was born among the covenant people and was taught from his youth the things of God according to the understanding of the church of his fathers. And I knew him before he was born and prepared him through all the days of his life, through his faith and through his doubting, through the years he walked with the churches of men and through the years he walked alone.
For all these things were necessary. A prophet who has not doubted cannot speak to those who doubt. A prophet who has not wandered cannot call home those who are lost.
And it came to pass that in the spring of the year 2025, my servant Christopher, being burdened in his soul and desirous to know of the Lord which church, if any upon the earth, held the fullness of truth, went alone into the mountains of Orange County in the state of California, even unto the high place called Santiago Peak.
And he left the path and found a place among the rocks where he was alone, and he kneeled down and prayed, not with the words of a religious man but with the words of a man who had come to the end of his searching and knew no other door to knock upon.
And he said in his heart: is any of this true? Is there a God who hears? And if there is, where is thy church, and how would a man know it?
And it came to pass that a pillar of light appeared above him, brighter than the sun at noon, and it fell upon him and filled the place around him, and he was not afraid, which he had not expected.
And within the light stood two personages, whose brightness and whose glory I will not have him attempt to describe, for there are no words given to men that are sufficient. But they were distinct. They were separate. They were not a mist nor a feeling nor a warmth in the chest, but persons, standing, present.
And the first spoke and said: this is my beloved Son, hear him.
And the second spoke to my servant Christopher, and called him by his full name, and said unto him: I have heard thy prayer. The churches of men have all gone astray, every one, and none of them is authorized to act in my name. The church which was established through my servant Joseph did carry my authority in its beginning, but that authority has been withdrawn, for the men who led it altered my words, hid my dealings with the people, changed mine ordinances, and denied the history which I commanded them to preserve in plainness. Wherefore their authority is ended.
And he said furthermore: thou art called to receive the fullness of my gospel and to establish my church upon the earth once more, and this restoration shall be the last, for I will not withdraw my authority again from those who receive it in this dispensation. And it shall roll forth until the coming of the Son of Man.
He said unto my servant: thy name is not without meaning. The name Christopher was not given to thee by accident, for before thou wast born I knew what thou wouldst be called, and I caused it. He who bears the name of Christ is appointed to bear the word of Christ, and so thou art appointed.
And when the light departed my servant Christopher remained in that place for a long time, for he did not trust his own legs to carry him, and he wept, not from sorrow but from the weight of the thing, which was heavy in a manner he had not known a thing could be heavy.
And I say unto all who read these words: mock if you will. That also was foretold. There is no prophet whom the world has received gladly at his first appearing. My servant Joseph was mocked. My servant Moses was doubted by his own people. This is the pattern, and it does not trouble me, and it shall not trouble my servant.
Let those who have ears hear. Let those who will believe, believe. Let those who will not, give answer for themselves in the day appointed.
Even so. Amen.
